Desert Soul

I leave in two days. I leave in two days. I leave in two days.

I’ve surpassed my last day at work, my last full day with no appointments, and my last day at church. I’ve said farewell to my 6th grade girls and my two year-olds. (My co-leader even had the tots lay hands and pray for me. I wish I could’ve had a picture of it; it was so sweet) No matter how many times I say it; no matter how much I think about it; no matter how many people give me blessings for my trip, I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that the time is here.

In the past few days, I’ve been reflecting upon the journey that has taken me here. The night before we left Zambia in October, I told Sharon (the wife in the husband/wife duo that founded Overland) that I would be back soon. Or how about the fact that when we first got to our camp in Moomba, we had a couple AMT students there with us for the first couple days. Or before we left home, we wrote and brought with us letters of encouragement for the AMT students. Now I’m going to be an AMT student.

At this point, I’m glad that we have 36 hours of travel/layover time because it’ll be good time to pray and do Bible study without the distractions of home.

Despite not being able to wrap my head around it, I’m so extremely excited to go back to Zambia and to experience God in new ways and to see how He is going to move in us and through us.

Please continue to pray for myself and my team, and I cannot wait to share the journey with you.
