I am so glad you found your way to my blog. I hope that you find yourself inspired, blessed, encouraged, and challenged by it, and more than anything, I hope it reminds you of the beautiful and relentless grace and love of our Heavenly Father. A life dedicated to following Jesus all over the globe is one that is messy and difficult but also beautiful and so much more than worth the lack of roots and predictability, every tear, every moment of loneliness, and every challenge. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
With love,
Stacy
What is “The Living One”?
The Living One is short for The Living One Who Sees Me, which is the English translation of the Hebrew phrase, Lahai Roi.
In Genesis 16, Hagar, a maid, ran away from Sarah (Abraham’s wife). God met her near a well and spoke to her, promising that she would give birth to Ishmael. Hagar was so amazed that God spoke to her that she named the well Beer-Lahai-Roi, “Well of the Living One Who Sees Me.” I think that Lahai Roi is one of the most beautiful, comforting, and all-encompassing names for God in the Bible; it is a promise that no matter what we face or our feelings and emotions may tell us, God sees us. In addition, “roi” can be translated as Shepherd, which says that He not only sees us, but He cares for us, provides for us, protects us, guides us, and leads us. I hope that encourages you the way that it encourages me. This blog and my life are built around these promises.
