Today we left our camp and traveled back to the base. The road, which was a different one than we took before) was tough. The path was narrow and lined with trees and thorns, so everyone had to pile into the middle of the truck to avoid being slapped or stabbed by tree branches coming into the truck. I’ll admit that I had the least of it because all the dodging made me nauseous towards the beginning of the trek, so they had me sit in the cab of the truck for the bulk of the trip. The trip was a few hours shorter than the other road, though.
After getting back to base, we showered, had community dinner, and then our team had a chat about our time in the villages. I’m really sad that tomorrow is our last full day in Zambia. 😦
